Dr Ayodeji Agbona has over eleven years of experience in the banking industry as a Relationship Manager, Head of Quick Service Point Unilorin, Head of Financial Services, and Head of Customer Services. Before his banking career, he worked as a researcher at the National Institute for Freshwater Fisheries Research in Maiduguri and as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Children in Crisis in Jos, Plateau state.

Ayodeji holds a BSc degree in Geography (Population Studies) from the University of Jos, an MSc degree in Geography (Population Studies) from the University of Lagos, and a PhD degree in Geography (Population Studies) from the University of Ilorin. Throughout his academic journey, he has specialized in various research areas, including Migration Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Developmental Studies, and Public Health. He has over ten publications in both local and international journals.

In recognition of his expertise, he was selected to participate in the United Nations UN75 Shifting Demographic Webinar series: A New Global Initiative, from February 13th, 2020 to March 21st, 2020.
